EcoSea is a pioneer in industrial scale solutions for sustainable aquaculture technology at the most demanding conditions and high energy locations

We Specialize in Sustainable and Environmentally Sound Aquaculture Solutions

Since our inception in 2007, EcoSea has strived to change the way fish are cultured, from traditional floating enclosures made with synthetic nets to modern submersible pens built with advanced materials, which are also friendly with our environment. Our technology turns farm centers into profit-generating businesses that do not disrupt local communities and their natural resources.

Our systems allow farmers to focus on the grow out and to spend less time in maintenance operations. EcoSea’s technology allow fish to grow inside an unobstructed flow of naturally oxygenated water, and therefore becoming less prone to disease.

Moving aquaculture activities to high-energy and exposed sites helps to keep our estuaries, fjords, and bays free of pollution and reduces environmental impact, while allowing scalable operations.

EcoSea looks forward to working with you to meet the world’s future needs.

EcoSea’s Core Material is a Special Copper Mesh

Special alloy nets designed for aquaculture

Harmless to the environment

Highly durable (12+ years of underwater operation)

No Fouling formation

100% recyclable at end-of-life

Lower COfootprint compared to nylon nets

Our Impact

Over the past 12 years our systems have reduced the use of more than 300 ton of nylon nets, eliminating ghost nets, escapes and marine life hazard, with a mortality reduction of up 30% compared to traditional aquaculture net pens.

By using our technology, greenhouse gas emissions were reduced by 46%, which over the past 12 years have resulted in 10,000+ tons of CO2 eq emissions prevented by EcoSea’s systems worldwide.

Our Sustainable Goals

“The 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, provides a shared blueprint for peace and prosperity for people and the planet, now and into the future.” (Source: https://sdgs.un.org/goals)

Among the Sustainable Development Goals adopted by the United Nations, EcoSea has committed to incorporate the following as core values of its operations worldwide:

Maintain, Reuse & Recycling

Japan, 2019

New life for old materials. Newly built submersible cage is utilizing a mesh that has been in the sea for 9 years in Chile and Japan.

Chile, 2020

16 cage systems removed from the water after 12 years of continuous operation, then compacted and ready to recycle.
